The Ramsey Family History Narrative
This client had a lot of accumulated information but didn’t have the time or the resources to put it all together in one convenient package. After researching over 260 years of the family’s history, I was able to discover that the immigrant ancestor was born in the Scottish Lowlands, near Edinburgh. Using published family histories, I was able to determine that the immigrant moved to Northern Ireland prior to 1768, and from there to America, where he settled in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Using the Pennsylvania State Archives, I discovered that he was in the Revolutionary War. The immigrant, whose name was William Ramsey, went from Lancaster, Pennsylvania to Virginia, Kentucky and lastly, Preble County, Ohio. The family was one of the founders of Israel Township in that county, and they also helped established the historic Hopewell Presbyterian church.William had 14 children (three sets of twins) and 79 grandchildren, leaving quite a legacy when he died in 1832.
When the client received the professionally edited and published book, she replied, “WOW!!! I’m speechless. The Ramsey book you did for me is simply incredible. You did such an outstanding job. I can’t thank you enough. I’m just in awe and tears. It is such a treasure.”
