Burmeister Family History Narrative
After researching the family, I discovered that they came from a very small village in Northern Germany, during the time of the Prussian Wars. The family arrived in the United States in 1869 and settled immediately in the small lumber outpost in Oceana, Michigan, just off the banks of Lake Michigan.
After the lumber was cleared from the area, the family remained to farm the land and had successful farms and orchards that are still in existence today. I was able to find the exact location and acreage of each family member’s farm, what they farmed, where they were all buried, where they lived and was able to locate cousins that were previously unknown.
The client was extremely pleased with the end results and stated that “it was the most memorable gift she had ever given.”
